Controversial
finish to Randy Orton vs.Brock Lesnar at
SummerSlam was apparently “negotiated”
beforehand. It was reported that about an hour or two before they went to the
ring, there was a backstage meeting on the finish with Triple H, Mark Carrano, Lesnar and possibly Paul Heyman.
For what it’s worth, the finish had been greatly debated, discussed and
“negotiated” backstage before the match. Orton originally believed he and Lesnar were going to
have a regular match.
Although it
indeed appears that the finish to Ortonvs.Lesnar played out
exactly like it was supposed to, that doesn’t mean it should have. Lesnar is probably going to be
gone for most of the remainder of 2016 and may not even be seen before The
Royal Rumble in January
2017, so at the very least, WWE should have let Orton have a competitive match with him, even if it
still ended with a loss!
With this WWE’s current title picture looks a lot different
than originally planned because they initially planned on putting the Universal
title on AJ Styles.
Also the question
is whether Daniel Bryan will wrestle again? Million dollar question? Bryan wasn’t ready to retire when he did earlier
this year, so as long as he’s still in his prime, there will continue to be
speculation about him returning to the ring.
